September 6, 5 pm - lasts approximately 1 hour
Free Evening Farm Tour with Steve Verrill

Take a hay wagon tour of the farm learning close up about local agriculture - from the planning and planting to the care and harvesting of crops grown at Verrill Farm. Bring questions for a Q & A with Steve. Tour is followed by snacks prepared in the stand kitchen from just picked crops!

September 11, 5:30 am - meet at the stand (lasts 1 - 1.5 hrs)
Start Farm Day with Steve with Free Corn Picking!

A hands-on agricultural experience! Steve Verrill will talk about this year's flavor-packed selection of corn varieties, along with other agricultural considerations, before the picking begins. Each family leaves with up to a dozen ears of PYO corn!

September 11, 11 am - 3 pm
Farm Day: Visits with 4H-ers, BBQ and Apple Pie Contest

A late summer day featuring BBQ, activities and an opportunity to visit with 4H'ers and their animals. 4H, the nation's largest youth development organization, is a program of the Cooperative Extension system of land-grant universities and introduces agriculture to a new generation.
  • Traditional BBQ from the farm stand smoker. Choices include pulled pork, ribs and chicken plus cole slaw, beans and Verrill Farm's famous sweet corn on the cob!

  • Visit with 4H'ers & their animals
  • Live music by Boston Road Bluegrass
  • Lil Folk Farm Petting Zoo
Activities - there is a small fee for these
  • Hay rides & Giddy Up Pony rides
Apple Pie Contest - FREE ENTRY
Single crust, double crust, lattice or crumb topping. Macs, heirlooms or a mix. Apple Pie is a classic American dessert with many variations and judges love to see (and taste!) them all, so bake your favorite and see how it measures up! Winner takes home a prize and bragging rites! Judging by members of the Culinary Guild of New England.

11 am - 1 pm: enter your best Apple Pie (name & phone number attached)
1:30 pm: judging & winner announced

Annual Harvest Festival & Benefit
for Emerson Hospital's Pediatric Care Unit

Fields surrounding the farm stand are transformed into an old-fashioned fair ground.

This fun for all ages benefit event includes:
  • Activities & games
  • Raffle
  • Food
Proceeds from activity, game & raffle tickets, as well as food purchases, go to Emerson Hospital's Pediatric Intervention Team to provide Coping Kits for children at the hospital.

The kits contain items & activities that are used to help children & caregivers cope successfully with the hospital experience.
Friday, October 21, 6 pm
Field to Fork
- A candlelight Harvest Dinner in our heated, decorated greenhouse.

Verrill Farm chefs prepare a dinner inspired by our own abundant Fall crops
  • Cash bar serving wine & beer
  • Live Music by Guitarist Enrique
  • $55 per person

Saturday, December 3, 3 - 5 pm
Visit with Santa

The heated greenhouse will be decorated with greens, poinsettias & lights - a perfect backdrop for Santa's annual visit!
  • Bring a list & take a picture with Santa
  • Complimentary refreshments

These popular workshops are fun for all ages Farm stand bakers are on hand with decorating tips or just let your imagination take over!

$35.00 fee includes:
  • assembled, undecorated gingerbread house on a 12" cardboard
  • frosting (gingerbread and frosting made in the farm stand kitchen)
  • candy for trim
  • Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. Adult comes at no additional charge. Please, only one adult per child.
  • Reservations required. These classes fill up quickly so we recommend calling early!
