Events Calendar

With the ever changing Covid-19 situation, all of our events are subject to change. We are closely monitoring guidance from state and local governments as we evaluate the each of our planned events. Safety remains a top priority for us at Verrill Farm and will remain the focal point as we make decisions on which events (if any) will be held at the farm this year. Below is our originally scheduled events calendar. We will continue to post any event updates as time passes. Thank you all for your support. We hope to see you at our next event sometime soon!

January 2020

Greenhouse Breakfast - Saturday, Jan 4th - 9AM to Noon

Join us in the heated greenhouse and kick off the New Year with some delicious pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon/sausage and juice or coffee from the Verrill Farm kitchen. $9.00 for adults, $5.00 for children. No reservations necessary.

February 2020

Kick off Superbowl weekend with a delicious breakfast at Verrill Farm. Breakfast will include pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon/sausage and juice or coffee. Served in our heated greenhouse, this event is fun for the entire family. $9.00 for adults, $5.00 for children. No reservations necessary.

Macaron Class - Wednesday, Feb. 5th - 6PM to 8PM

SOLD OUT. Back by popular demand! Work with the talented Verrill Farm bakery team to learn the art of making French Macarons. Learn all the techniques to make this elegant French confection. Class will include hands on baking, recipes and treats to take home. $55 per student. Call 978-369-4494.

Valentines Day Dinner Pickups - Friday, Feb. 14th - Noon to 6PM

Spoil your special someone with a prepared dinner from the Verrill Farm kitchen. Meals include a choice of appetizers, entrees, a delicious dessert selection and a pair of roses. Meals cost $80 per couple. Order deadline is February 12th at Noon. Valentines Menu.

Kids Baking Class: Cream Puffs! Tuesday, Feb 18th - 3PM to 4:30PM

SOLD OUT! This session will be targeted for students grades 4 - 6. Join the Verrill Farm bakery team over school vacation and learn about some of the science behind the french dough known as "pate a choux". Students will learn mixing and shaping techniques and will make a variety of goodies with this one simple dough. Class will cover cream puffs, gougères and more! Maple Baking Class: Wednesday, March 4th - 6PM to 8PM

Calling all maple lovers! Spend the evening with the Verrill Farm bakery team and learn to make maple apple shrub, maple cake, maple custard tart, maple granola parfait all with Massachusetts maple syrup. Class space is limited. $50 per student. Call 978-369-4494 to reserve.

Pi Day - Friday, March 13th - All Day

In celebration of Pi day, 5" pies will be available at the farm stand for a special price of $3.14! Special available while supply lasts.

PiePalooza - Saturday, March 14th - 1PM to 3PM

PLEASE READ & HELP SHARE: We have made the decision to postpone this Saturday's Verrill Farm PiePalooza celebration to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. The farm stand will still be stocked with plenty of Pie to take home for Pi Day on both Friday & Saturday, including a limited supply of 5" pies for $3.14 each day! Thank you for your understanding. We are planning to schedule another fun pie event for a future date.

Sake Tasting to Benefit the Concord Nanae Network (CNN) - Friday, March 20th - 6 PM

You will sample a selection of different sakes, each paired with appetizers and expert commentary. The evening begins at 6 pm and will take place at Verrill Farm. Cost: $100 per person (adults only). Checks can be made out to Town of Concord/Nanae Fund and mailed to: Jim Terry, CNN Treasurer, 368 College Rd Concord, MA 01742. Massachusetts Maple Week - March 21st - 27th

Stop by the farm stand during maple week and enjoy specials, demos and delicious food items from the Verrill Farm kitchen and bakery featuring Massachusetts produced maple syrup.

April Fools Baking Class For Teens - Sunday, March 29th - 3PM to 5PM

CANCELLED Join Verrill Farm for this fun baking class for teens. Learn to bake chicken dinner cupcakes with biscuits, mashed potatoes, peas, carrots and a drumstick and candy sushi. Space is limited. Call 978-369-4494 to sign up. $50 per student.

April 2020

Gardening Class with Steve Verrill - Saturday, April 4th - 10AM to Noon

CANCELLED. Join Steve Verrill to talk gardening tips and tricks in the farmstand greenhouse. Bring your questions! Participants will receive coffee, a muffin and coupon for two tomato seedlings to be picked up in May. $25 per participant. No reservations necessary.

Kids Baking Class - Tuesday April 21st - 3PM to 4:30

Kids Cooking Class: "Playing with Food" - Thursday April 23rd - 3PM to 4:30

This session will be targeted for students grades 4 - 6. Join the Verrill Farm culinary team and learn about cooking. Participants will learn how to create friendly fruit and vegetable bugs and critters for snacking, cinnamon raisin pinwheels, vegetable pizza pinwheels & spinach and cheddar pinwheels. Mother's Day Brunch - Sunday, May 10th - Seatings From 10AM to 1PM

Mother's Day Brunch Buffet served outside under tents overlooking the farm. $38 per adult. $12 for kids 10 & under. Plus tax. Cash bar featuring Bloody Marys, Mimosas & wine. Live music. Reservations required by May 8th. Please call 978.369.4494. More Details.

Asparagus Luncheon & Tour - Saturday, May 16th - 11AM to 1PM

Join us for a tour of the asparagus field and take a peek into the growing & harvesting of this first local crop of spring! If you prefer, come for lunch only & enjoy a buffet of the tasty spears prepared in many ways. Just let us know when you sign up that you will only be attending lunch. Tour begins at 11:00 AM - Join Steve for a guided tour of the asparagus field. 12:00 pm - Lunch is served under tents beside the farm stand and includes a buffet inspired by the crop, prepared in the stand kitchen, includes dessert and beverage. Strawberry Cocktail Party - Friday, June 12th - 5PM - 7PM

Celebrate local strawberries & the beginning of summer with Verrill Farm. Party fare includes a selection of drinks, appetizers and desserts, featuring our own strawberries! Cost: $40 per person (plus tax) includes a complementary drink of your choice, appetizers & desserts and a hayride tour around the farm. Cash bar. Reservations are required. Father's Day - Sunday, June 16th - 11AM - 2PM

Treat your Dad - & yourself - to a hot dog grilled outside, chips & a drink all for - $5.00!

Strawberry Festival - Saturday, June 20th - 9AM to 3PM

Join Verrill Farm for our most popular spring event as we celebrate the peak of strawberry season! Pick-Your-Own strawberries in fields by the stand 9 am until the crop is picked out for the day. Enjoy delicious strawberry shortcake made with Verrill Farm strawberries, made-from-scratch biscuits & fresh whipped cream. Visitors can also enjoy live music. Hayrides & Pony rides will be offered for a small fee. Food service, music and rides begin at 11AM and end at 3PM. Festival Details.

Blueberry Pancake Breakfast - Saturday, July 18th - 9AM to Noon.

Join us on the farm for our annual blueberry pancake breakfast featuring local, MA grown blueberries. Take part in the annual pie eating competition & more summer fun. $9 per adult, $5 per child.

Farm to Table Early Summer Dinner - Friday, July 24th - 6PM

Join us as the Verrill Farm chefs prepare a three course dinner (appetizers, main course & dessert) featuring our own freshly harvested crops. Corn Picking - Sunday, August 16th - 6AM

FREE! Join Steve Verrill & the farm crew for an early morning, hands-on experience. Pick your own sweet corn - maximum one dozen ears per family. No reservation necessary. Meet at the farm stand at 6 am prompt! Events lasts 1 - 1.5 hours.

Cooking Class: Antipasto - Tuesday, August 18th - 6PM to 8PM

Join Verrill Farm's culinary team for an interactive antipasto class. Learn how to prepare different antipasto dishes using our own seasonal produce. The class will consist of a mix of demonstrations as well as some hands on examples for participants to try themselves. Some of the menu items prepared will include: Prosciutto wrapped Verrill Farm melon. Caponata bruschetta. Ciliegine mozzarella & cherry tomato skewers. Prosciutto and sharp provolone stuffed peppadew peppers with extra virgin olive oil and red wine vinegar. Rosemary and garlic roasted plum tomatoes. Giardiniera carrots. Herb grilled zucchini with pesto. Fire roasted mixed bell pepper in olive oil. This event will take place under the Verrill Farm tent and will be limited to 10 participants. Social distancing measures and masks will be required.

Sunflowers & Sunshine to Support Emerson Pediatrics - Begins August 15th

Enjoy 15 different varieties and over 250,000 sunflower blooms! Wander through the paths cut between the flowers while enjoying nature, the sunflowers and some great photo spots. 50% of all event proceeds will be donated to support the pediatrics unit at Emerson Hospital. Due to safe social distancing requirements, entry into the field will be admission based (all guests ages 10+) and will include cut your own flowers!

Corn & Tomato Festival - Saturday, August 22nd - 11AM - 3PM

Stay tuned for details. We are in the process of refining the details to safely host this event in light of Covid-19.

September 2020

Farm Day - Saturday, September 5th - 11AM - 3PM

Due to Covid-19, this year's festival is likely to change. We are intending to host the festival in some format. We are currently exploring alternate dates and formats that would allow us to safely run the festival. Please check back for updates.

Stone Soup Farm to Table Dinner - Sunday, September 22nd - 4PM

Support Concord agriculture and join us for the 12th annual Stone Soup Dinner. One hundred percent of the “profits” from this event will again be donated the Concord Agricultural Committee and will be used to keep farming alive and well in Concord. Tickets are $40 per person and are on sale at The Concord Cheese Shop, Verrill Farm and online. Join us for a fun night of food, music, drink (cash bar), and mingling with friends.

Annual Harvest Festival

Our annual Harvest Festival was held in 2 events this year, with 50% of the proceeds to be donated to the Pediatric Unit at Emerson Hospital, Concord. The 2 comprised of Petals for Pediatrics and Pumpkins for Pediatrics. Thanks to all who attended and cut beautiful bouquets of sunflowers or picked huge and colorful pumpkins. Both events provided extraordinary photo opportunities for families to enjoy. Verrill Farm was able to make a generous donation to this cause.

Wreath Making Workshop - Dec. 5th - 3PM - 5PM

Work with our floral designers to learn to make a beautiful wreath for your front door. Instruction will include: bow making, wiring pinecones, bells and baubles, as well as making the loop for hanging. 12″ Balsam wreathes start at $20. 16″ Balsam wreathes start at $26. Each wreath includes a bow of your choice and one additional decoration. Additional decorations will be sold at the class for $2 each. Additional decorations will include balls, presents, drums, artificial greens & berries, etc. Space is limited! Reserve your size and spot by purchasing online.

Visit with Santa - Saturday, December 7th - 3PM - 5PM

The heated greenhouse will be decorated with trees & lights - a perfect backdrop for Santa's annual visit! Bring a list & take a picture with Santa. Students from the Music Maker School in Acton will also be joining in for some live holiday music. Complimentary refreshments.

Gingerbread House Kits will be available

Due to the restrictions of Covid-19, we will not be able have our popular workshops. However, kits will be available to order for your family or limited party. Kit #1: 1assembled homemade gingerbread house, 1 pint assorted Christmas candies, 1 decorating bag of white frosting. $30.00.
